ANZSMS19 - Convenor's Report

The committee of 11 members has met 15 times. Apart from advertising our conference on various websites, a postcard with conference details has been sent to all ANZSMS members and had been distributed at the 50th ASMS meeting in June. Although full details of the conference are available from the website (http://www.anzsms.org/anzsms19.html), the following details are briefly noted.
1. The conference program will involve the following sessions: Fundamentals, Instrumental, Organic Geochemical, Analytical and Biological Mass Spectrometry. The following speakers have agreed to come:
   
   Plenary Lecturers: Professors Helmut Schwartz, Kimberly Prather, David Russell and Margaret Sheil (Morrison Lecturer), and Drs Gary Van Berkel, John Hayes, Paul D'Agostino and Richard Johnson.
   
   Keynote Lecturers: Professors Peter Armentrout and Fred McLafferty, and Dr Gavin Reid.
   
   
2. Sponsorship: A mailout for sponsorship has resulted in four sponsors at this early stage.
   
   
3. The registration fees have been set at $400 and $150 (concession) for early bird registration (December 1, 2002). These include all morning and afternoon teas and lunches and the Conference dinner.
   
   
4. Deadline for abstract submission is October 28, 2002 and guidelines are on the website.
