MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Held at La Trobe University
Wednesday 17th August 1994 at 5.30pm

1. The minutes of the previous General Meeting, held at La Trobe University on Tuesday, February 15th, 1994 were unanimously accepted without amendment (moved G. Urbach, seconded T. McAllister).

2. Dr J. MacLeod was elected (moved T. McAllister, seconded J. Rowe) as the ANZSMS representative for the 14th International Mass Spectrometry Conference.

3. The election of regional ANZSMS correspondents was referred to the incoming committee.

4. The meeting expressed strong support for a scholarship scheme to provide financial assistance for student members to attend and present papers at international mass spectrometry conferences. The details and conditions of such a scheme were referred to the incoming committee for resolution.

5. The committee report on the activities of the Society during the previous financial year was received and unanimously accepted.

6. The following members were elected unopposed for the six vacant positions on the ANZSMS committee:- President: Dr J.MacLeod, Vice President: Dr M.Guilhaus, Secretary: Dr M.Sheil, Treasurer: Mr R.Lidgard, Member: Dr J.Traeger, Public Officer and Registrar of Members: Dr R.Summons.

7. The audit report for the financial year ended 31 March 1994 was submitted and unanimously approved (moved N. Galbraith, seconded D. McGilvery).

8. The meeting was closed at 6.00pm.
